Customer Rating: Summary: Works great in Chicago Comment: The last watch I was using was a X6 HR Suunto. It was pretty cool, but it burned through batteries. I decided that I wanted a zero maintenance watch. This one is it - solar powered and synchronization with atomic clock in Colorado (if you are close enough for reception). I started to get attracted to some of the higher end Casios (Oceanus line) - specifically the "Manta OCW-S1000". What attracted me to the Manta was that it was highly technical (crystal, titanium band, solar, atomic clock sync), but no digital display or over the top instrumentation(e.g. like the Citizen Skyhawks). Ultimately it was hard to justify paying $1200 versus $60 for essentially the same functionality.
Although this watch does not have a crystal cover, I bought a cover from zagg.com which works quite well. One other thing...this watch also has dual time - which is handy if you want to see two time zones at the same time (i.e. home timezone on analog and visiting timezone on digital display). And...it is water resistant to 10 bars pressure, which is good enough for me.
I would have given it 5 out of 5 - but I didn't think it is as visually appealing as something like the Manta OCW-S1000
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Watch, Works in St Pete, Florida Comment: This is a great watch and it does work in St Petersburg/Tampa Florida. I was concerned whether it would pick up the signal here because we're outside the limit for distance but apparently the signal goes a lot further than indicated. The band does seem a bit cheap, like it would break in a year or two of taking the watch off and on. Other than that, it seems to be a great watch that will never need to be set or replace a battery.
Customer Rating: Summary: He loved it! Comment: I bought this as an anniversary gift after my husband saw a cheaper one while we were out shopping. Now he does not wear cheap watches so it took the other reveiws for me to decide on this watch.
Yes, it was set for Japan, but he had it set for himself within 10 minutes, if that. The band is smooth, he says it's very light on the arm. Normally he wears all metal watches so I'm sure this feels different. He likes the design, features and face. I thought it looked great too and I really don't know much about mens watches. It does not have the typical Sports Watch look, but could easily be dressed up or down.
If this is a gift, buy a box. My only dissapointment was that it arrived in a black display stand in a flimsy wrapped Casio box which was more like paper. Not even a plastic box like you normally see at the stores. So I bought a small gift box and took it off of the stand.
Customer Rating: Summary: Keeps great time Comment: Great watch for people like me who like "toys" as ooposed to jewewlry. The directions are challenging and there are some functions I still can't figure out, but overall, I like it!
Customer Rating: Summary: This watch is everything it said it was Comment: This watch is maintenance free,no winding,no setting of time dates and no batteries to buy.Im sure others will find something neg to say about this watch, but I could not find one.

With this non-stop, self-adjusting Casio Waveceptor timepiece, you don't have to worry about replacing batteries because it's solar powered and you'll have confidence of always knowing the correct time via the integrated atomic timekeeping technology. This stylish watch is suitable for both professional and casual wear, and it's complemented by a contemporary black resin strap. It includes a stopwatch function that can measure events down to 1/100 of a second for the first 60 minutes (and down to 1 second from 60 minutes to 100 hours), and it offers elapsed and split time modes, and 1st-2nd place times. Other timekeeping features include: - World Time: 29 time zones (30 cities), city code display, daylight saving on/off
- 3 Daily Alarms
- Hourly Time Signal
- 12/24 Hour Formats
This timepiece also features an Auto Calendar (pre-programmed until the year 2039), ±15-second accuracy per month, Afterglow backlighting, and water resistance to 100 meters (330 feet)--offering protection from accidental splashes as well suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and light recreational diving. This solar-powered watch has a battery life of up to 5 months on a full charge (without further exposure to light). This multi-band radio-controlled watch receives a time calibration signal transmitted from several locations across the globe (the U.S. and Japan), and it has an auto receive function (up to 6 times per day). You can choose to automatically receive this signal four times a day, or manually update the watch to the atomic clock.
